Book Review - The Bones of You - Debbie Howells

The Bones of YouThe Bones of You by Debbie Howells

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It seems to be fashionable at the moment to tell stories from different points of view and different time frames. This book does that but I still enjoyed it.

Essentially it's the story of Rosie, an 18 year old who disappears and is then found brutally murdered.

Kate is an acquaintance of Rosie's family but after the murder finds herself befriending Jo, Rosie's mother and becoming drawn into the family which includes husband Neal, and younger daughter Delphine.

Kate looks after horses and Rosie used to come and help her before she disappeared. The story is told mainly through Kate but also Rosie's spirit looking back not only on her own life but also on her Mother's upbringing.

We discover what a dysfunctional family they are and how all is not what it seems. There are a couple of red herrings thrown in but I'd was pretty certain who the murderer was about half way through but that didn't stop me wanting to keep reading to see if I was right.
