It's Friday and time to look back on the week and find the blessings. Susanne keeps us on our toes and you can find her blog and all the details here.
It's been a fairly uneventful week here but there are always good things going on
1) It's been incredibly wet over the month of January but I did manage a walk around the lake on Monday despite it being incredibly muddy so thankful for my wellies.
2) Tuesday I did my keep fit class and then had coffee (well tea for me) with friends who also attend the class. Always good to have a catch up.
3) We spent time with grandchildren Nathan and Ella on Sunday. Ella who is only 5 is getting much better at playing games but we also had a long spell playing with the Playdoh. (And the colours didn't get mixed!)
4) Yesterday was Foodbank day and as always it was very busy. We had two visits from schools. The first one was a group of older students who are studying Charity and Money Management as part of their course so they were very interested to hear how the Foodbank operates etc. Some of them brought donations and several wanted to know how they could volunteer. We often have students who are doing their Duke of Edinburgh awards spending time at the Hub so there are opportunities for them.
The second visit was from a primary school group of Year 6 pupils who had done a week of collecting for the Foodbank and they brought in a huge donation of canned and dried goods which we're always grateful for.
We also had an unannounced visit from the Hygiene team from the local council and we retained our 5 star rating!
It was such a busy morning that Sally (who usually works with me in the stockroom) and I didn't even have time for a cup of tea or in my case a chocolate croissant or in Sally's case a cinnamon pastry.
(Just slipping in today's Just Jot it January prompt there lol.)
5) I've decided to give a collagen supplement a go. The order was delivered earlier this week and thankfully the chocolate flavour I ordered is delicious. So I'm thankful that it shouldn't be too difficult to fit it into the daily routine and that I didn't have to think about the cost either.
I also got a delivery of garden bird and swan/duck food this week. Again I'm thankful that we're in a position to be able to do these things now that we're retired.
Now I'm off to try and get a walk in before the rain returns.
Have a good weekend all.
(The Just Jot it January prompt was from Tessa K who blogs HERE. The Just Jot it challenge is hosted by Linda HERE.)

It sounds like a lovely week with some great blessings!
ReplyDeleteI take a scoop of collagen each morning in my coffee. It's flavor free and scent free. It helps to repair the spine and the discs in the spine. Must be working as I've greatly improved in that area! I'm into supplements vs RX drugs.
glad you could get some walks in...not here...way too frigid cold. My wellingtons are in the garage waiting for walks in March and April (our Mud season in the mountains).
Have a restful weekend!
Well I was a bit sceptical about the collagen but Hubby goes to an exercise class where the instructor is very knowledgeable about all things to do with health - he's qualified and he's always doing research and gave me some good pointers. Of course it will take a bit of time to see changes but good to know it's helping you.
DeleteCompared to my week you had a "hectic" one. The only thing which we had too, was the bad weather !
ReplyDeleteYes we had a bit of sunshine yesterday but back to rain today.
DeleteHi Wendy,
ReplyDeleteI had to chuckle at your muddy boots. We will have our mud season in the spring. ;-) I am sure your son will fill you in on mud season as the snow melts. Hee Hee.
I enjoyed your post!
I'm sure he will lol
DeleteIt has been such a wet week, I had my wellies on yesterday, they were needed.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like some serious playing with Playdoh and amazing that the colours didn't get mixed!
It sounds like some interesting visits at the foodbank. Good job with the 5 star rating!
Thanks. Yes I like to keep the playdoh separate but Ella usually has other ideas lol
DeleteYou had a busy week compared to mine
ReplyDeleteI did nap on Thursday afternoon lol
DeleteEven one walk around the lake is a plus. Now that we are home from holiday, we won't be walking outside until the snow melts. And I think I need some wellies like yours.
ReplyDeleteGood news on the Food Bank being busy and maintaining the five star rating.
Enjoy another week with the grands!
I love my wellies lol
DeleteThat's a feat to use Play-Doh without getting colors mixed! That's so good that they bring students around to the Foodbank. We just refilled our bird feeders last night before the evening snow. They seem to be enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteI seem to be constantly refilling our bird feeders - especially with a hungry squirrel getting at them too.
DeleteI think I should like to have some wellies just because it’s so fun to say! I’m impressed the colors didn’t get mixed with the play dough. That would never happen in our house :(
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't usually happen in my house either - Ella loves to mix them usually
DeleteYour food bank sounds amazing. I've never seen Wellies for sale around here. Think I should look on Amazon, not that I would need to wear them very often. Enjoy your weekend, Wendy! I am settled in with my new electric throw. drapes pulled, and ready to face a very uncommon freeze tonight!
