Wednesday Hodgepodge 10/2/16

Wednesday's Hodgepodge is brought to us courtesy of Joyce at
Pop over there to see other posts and if you want to join in add the link to your Hodgepodge blog post to the Linky List at the end of Joyce's post and don’t forget to visit at least your neighbours on the list.
Have fun!

1. Create an acrostic using the word LOVE. If you're unsure what an acrostic is click here.

Love can be

Overwhelming and

Very often an

Emotional rollercoaster

2. Does love really conquer all? Why or why not?
Not always.  Sometimes timing and circumstances get in the way.

3. Tell us about a time recently, where you really put your heart into something.
When my husband was 60 last April, my daughter organised a collection of memories from those who attended the celebration.  I spent ages putting those memories into a scrap book.   There were lots of lovely memories and tributes, as well as some funny stories we need to be able to access easily and often and now we can.

4. What's your favourite fictional love story?

Where to start?  So many spring to mind.  Lots of classics of course.  Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice.  Love Story itself.  I do like a happy ending though so films like Notting Hill and Love Actually have been watched more than once!

5. Do you generally wear your heart on your sleeve, or keep your cards close to the vest?

My heart is definitely NOT on my sleeve.

6. What food says love to you? Why?

Food that you can share.  Doesn’t really matter what the food is it’s the intimacy of the sharing that says love.
7. When were you last 'tickled pink' over something? Explain.
This might sound strange but it was at my Mother-in-law’s funeral last week.  There were so many lovely comments made about her and our family,  including my husband and children.  I felt very proud to be a part of it.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

If I can command just a fraction of the love and respect shown to my MIL last week I will die happy.

  1. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sure your MIL was an awesome lady.

  2. Love Actually is one of my all time favorite films. I love the individual story lines, and the way they're all woven together too. It would be hard for me to say which story within the story is my favorite. I'm sorry for you loss. I'm very close to my wonderful mother in law and so grateful to have her in my life. Take care.

  3. Lots of good answers to this one. I haven't seen Love Story in years but the phrase "love means never having to say you are sorry" has always stayed with me. not because I like it but because I think it is wrong.

We are away in the van with intermittent wifi so I shall talk to you when we get home. Xx

  6. Your acrostic is neat, Wendy!
Your answer to #6 really makes me pause, smile ... and nod.
