1. Another concert last Saturday. This time not only our daughter-in-law but also hubby’s sister were taking part. It was a get together of singers to rehearse and then perform parts of Haydn’s “Creation” which of course was very apt for Easter. Naturally it wasn’t very polished due to the limited rehearsal time but it was still enjoyable and was also a fundraiser for an orphanage in the Philippines known as Bahay ng Pag-asa (House of Hope).
2. Easter – a time of new beginnings and a return
to Mass for me. And of course not forgetting the chocolate!
3. Sunday lunch
with 2 of our 3 children and their partners.
Always good to get together.
4. Some good weather and motivation to get out in the garden.

5. An afternoon out in London with hubby, just for a walk and taking in the sights – the diversity in architecture always amazes me. A couple of pictures here show what I mean – an old building in the forefront with one of the new skyscrapers in the background. Apologies for the lack of photographic skills!

ReplyDeleteI had my long awaited shots in my shoulder done on Wednesday, then the post came and delivered a card from three of my grandchildren I haven't seen in 6 years teeling me of what they want to do on leaving school.
Oh yes there is another good thing my fourth poetry book will soon be on sale.

It's been years since I have heard Haydn's "Creation" - how lovely to hear it in person! Always fun to get together with our kids. We've had some lovely weather here, too. Funny blend of old and new - when we travel it seems a lot of downtown areas are like that.

DeleteMy daughter visited London last summer and loved it. One of these fine days I'm hoping I might make it there too. I love the juxtaposition of old against the new.

DeleteI loved visiting London! Any city where old and new architecture dwells side by side is fascinating. Walking around London (and York and Rome) I noticed the contrasts. There's really nothing like it in most of North America.
