Friday's Fave Five 15/4/16

http://susannesspace.blogspot.co.uk/2016/04/fridays-fave-five-375.html

It's Friday so it's time to join in with Suzanne's Friday's Fave Five.

It's a place to come on Friday's and think back over your week and just post about 5 favourite things from your week. It can be anything that tickled your fancy over the week. Favourite quotes, posts, happenings, scriptures, recipes, pictures, great internet finds, etc., etc.

If you want to take part or visit other Fave Five posts, click on the picture above to go to host Suzanne's site and check out the linky list.

My five for this week are:

1. Family get together:  We had a great time last Sunday gathering together to celebrate the 3rd birthday of hubby's great nephew.  (Yeah that makes us feel old.)  Weather stayed fine and it was good to have a catch up.

2. Hanging out the washing:  The weather has not been too bad this week, although it's rained a lot today :( and on Wednesday in particular it was nice enough to hang some washing outside and get it dry!

3. Friends for lunch:  It was my turn to host today so we had a nice lunch - Chicken parcels with asparagus and broccoli, roasted vegetables and new potatoes.  That was all fine but my favourite part of the meal was these:
Salted caramel and chocolate tarts.

4. I'd hoped to be able to write about visiting the bluebells in our local park but we didn't make it there yet but I am impressed with this blue-flowered shrub in my garden just don't ask me what it's called!

5. London sights:  those of you following my blog will know that I'm taking part in the A-Z Challenge this month so I've been getting out and about taking photos.  I was out yesterday in preparation for yesterday's post and a couple coming up.  It's hard work getting everything done on time but I'm enjoying visiting parts of London we haven't seen for a while - or at all!

Have a great weekend!

  1. I used to have to hang out the wash in early married days before we had a dryer, and in our area, between bugs, birds (pooping), and pollen, I wasn't too fond of it. But I did love the fresh smell of it on the days it wasn't filled with the other stuff.

Your lunch sounds good - those tarts look amazing!

I don't know what that shrub is called, either, but it's pretty.

  3. we dont have a clothesline but in the summer, when im on break frm teaching, i set up the clothes rack from the basement onto the deck and air dry many of the cotton and rayon items that cannot go in the dryer. i love the scent of the fresh air.

  5. I miss having a clothesline, but it's on my list of things for hubby to do;) I do like to hang out wash to dry and they are so useful drying rugs and things that I don't like to put in the dryer. Those tarts look amazing! It's nice to connect with another blogger who is an empty nester trying to figure it all out!

  6. Yum, that lunch out with friends sounds delicious! One of my memories from childhood was my mom hanging clothes on the clothesline. Nothing can duplicate that wonderful smell!

  7. I'm not allowed to hang wash outside where I live. I miss that.
Since I love visiting London, I'm thrilled with how easy it is for you to just be out and about there.
