1. How did you welcome the month of July, and tell us one fun thing you did to celebrate the 4th. (or the weekend for any non-USA residents playing along today)

We travelled to Nottingham on the 1^st to our see our future DIL and sort out some wedding things.  On Saturday I met up with some former work colleagues.  We had a meal in a new Indian restaurant which was lovely and then we adjourned to the local pub.  The conversation and wine flowed freely.  Hence Sunday was a quiet day!  The 4^th was a normal working day here in the UK although hubby was home.  We caught up on chores, had lunch in the local café, went to the library, shopped for dinner.  Normal stuff but good to do it together.

2. Right now..what's your favourite red thing? white thing? blue thing? 

Not sure I have a favourite red thing unless you count wine?  White would be the new climbing rose I planted recently which is now in bloom, and blue would be the dress I bought on Friday for my son’s wedding!

3. Wave the white flag, raise a red flag, fly your freak flag...which 'flag' have you flown most recently? Explain. 

Well we don’t generally wave flags here at home so it would probably be a white flag when I’ve given up on something although I hate giving up on things so hopefully that white flag is gathering dust somewhere.

4. According to Cond Nast Traveler these are the seven best places to visit in July-

a boat safari in Botswanna's Okavango Delta, Riviera Maya Mexico (it's whale shark season and apparently you can swim with them), Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons, Pamploma Spain, St. Petersburg Russia, the Fuji Rock Festival at Mount Naeba Japan, the Salzburg Festival in Salzburg Austria

If time and money weren't factors would you want to see any/all of these? Which would you most like to see and why? 

Well I’m not particularly adventurous and I wouldn’t enjoy anywhere that was too hot so I’d probably pick St. Petersburg.

5. Grilled cheese, pimento cheese, or mac and cheese...your favourite from the cheesy treats listed? 

Grilled cheese.

6. What makes you sweat? 

Well mowing the lawn in the sunshine for starters.  That’s on my to do list today.  But unknown and unfamiliar situations can get me worked up especially if I’m not feeling in control.

7. Your favourite movie with a 'patriotic' theme of some sort?

Independence Day and Airforce One immediately came to mind so I put my thinking cap on for a British film.  Two that I really enjoyed were The King’s Speech and Mrs Brown.

I am so pleased to report that Poppy continues to do well and as her picture was on Facebook this week I feel I can post one here now.  Thank you for all your kind words and prayers.  They really do work.
