Friday's Fave Five - 16/9/16
It's Friday so it's time to join in with Suzanne's Friday's Fave Five.
It's a place to come on Fridays and think back over your week and just post about 5 favourite things from your week. It can be anything that tickled your fancy over the week. Favourite quotes, posts, happenings, scriptures, recipes, pictures, great internet finds, etc., etc.
If you want to take part or visit other Fave Five posts, click on the picture above to go to host Suzanne's site and check out the linky list.
Here are mine:
1. Spending time in the garden in the sunshine.
2. Cooler weather. Although the sunshine was lovely it has been VERY hot here but overnight and this morning we had a lot of rain and the temperature is noticeably cooler. Hopefully we won't have too much rain but it's been so hot it's been hard to get anything done.
3. Good results from my eye test. I still need my glasses but I'm less short sighted than I was and everthing looked fine as in no signs of glaucoma or anything else you wouldn't want to have!
4. Lunch with friends. Our usual four got together again today and our host Mary provided an excellent lunch. We had a mediterranean style starter, followed by salmon, rocket, creme fraiche, avocado and sun dried tomatoes on Italian flatbread followed by lemon drizzle cake with strawberries. All delicious.
5. An impromptu visit from one of our french nephews. Henri has been living in Brazil for over a year and has just come home. He's been in England for the last week catching up with all his english relatives and he called in to see us early this evening. He has matured into a very personable young man. It's nice to see all our nieces and nephews growing up but it does make me feel old sometimes!
Have a good weekend all.
Glad you eye exam was a good one! Always nice to catch up with family you don't get to see often and lunch with friends in cooler weather can't be beat!! Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt was very hot here too, now it is bearable ! I had the same with my eyes, my shortsight got better with the age ! I had to change glasses. That's nice that you have nieces and nephews, I have only one from Riccardo's side (his sister) but she is already 54 !!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about feeling old when you see your nieces and nephews grow up. My nieces just started high school. I can barely remember being in high school. How did they grow up so fast? How did I get old so fast?
ReplyDeleteHappy to read that your eye exam went well. Have a beautiful day Wendy. smiles
ReplyDeleteI'm trying hard not to be envious - it seems like all the FFF posts I've read so far have talked about cooler weather. But I know we'll get some eventually.
ReplyDeleteGlad your eye test went well! It's always a relief to hear that everything is well after an exam.
Glad you had nice visits with your friends and nephew this week!
I agree with you about the weather. The cool fresh air was a delight at the end of the week.
ReplyDeleteHere in eastern New York we are enjoying a nice start to early autumn as well...cooler temps at night means no more central air on and windows open for that awesome fresh air!!
ReplyDeleteLunch with friends sounds delightful!!
happy weekend!
hi Wendy, Sounds like you had a nice week with a variety of things happening. Glad your eye test went well. That's nice that you had some good visits this week, too. Hope the end of your weekend is going well!
ReplyDeleteYay for good eye appointments! Visiting nephews is always fun (I love mine). Wow, that luncheon--I am full just reading about it.
ReplyDeleteI hope your weather moderates soon.
Someday I will go to an eye exam and not hear that my eyes continue to get worse. That day has yet to arrive...
ReplyDeleteHow fun that you had a visit from your nephews. That lunch sounds very delicious...how nice to share with some good friends.
ReplyDeleteAh, good news for your eyes! Especially since you're enjoying all those lovely hours in the garden.
