We
are on day 25 of Lock Down here in the UK due to Covid-19. In these
difficult times it's even more important to take a breath from time to
time and be positive. That's why this meme hosted by Susanne at Living to Tell the Story is a lovely place to come and share our gratitude and positivity. Check out the link above to find who else is taking part.
Here are mine:
1) We and all our extended family have got through another week safe and well. The daily statistics of the Covid-19 pandemic are horrific so this is definitely something to be thankful for, especially as we have 2 workers on the NHS frontline. My Goddaughter is actually a midwife and was working on a research project in midwifery. She's now been drafted onto a research project relating to Covid-19 and is taking samples from patients with the virus. Nick's youngest sister is an ICU unit Sister and her unit in Maidstone was featured on a Channel 4 programme this week. It was hard to pick her out with all the PPE on but we did manage to spot her a couple of times!
2) Rain! We've had good weather for the past week of so but this afternoon we've had some rain. Hopefully it will mean I don't have to water the garden later.
3) Jigsaws - I haven't run out of new ones to do yet. They are a great way of passing the time and distracting me from the news at the moment.
4) An evening playing Canasta with hubby. We used to play Canasta a lot at one point but we haven't played for a long time. We just about managed to work out the rules from a book we've got. Not sure we got them completely right but we managed to muddle through and I won.
5) And the best for last - I'm going to be a Nanny again in October. My youngest son's wife had her 12 week scan this week and all is well. She's actually 13 weeks so it feels ok to reveal this news now, particularly as she has told the extended family.
We're all very excited. We just have to hope things are a bit more normal by then!
I've found this week a bit harder to stay positive but being sent photos like these helps:

ReplyDeleteLife will not go back to normal again I'm sure....let's hope not anyways....let's hope some of this kindness and generosity we are seeing ( at least here in New York State) continues and people continue to be more intentional with their friendships, etc.

DeleteWell that is exciting news! Congratulations! It rained here all last night so I'm hoping that is the signal for no more snow though one never knows in Southern Alberta. Adorable pics of the grandkids in their hats.
