#SoCS - 4/7/20 - Tossing it out!

Well it's been a while since I've done one of these.  It's hosted by Linda over here  Check out the link to see the details and who else is taking part.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “toss.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Well firstly I'm just going to toss out there "Happy 4th July" to all my American visitors and hope you're having a good day.

We visited Grandson Rory today and were tossing a ball at the park.  He was so excited to see us and he does love running around in the park.  He hasn't quite got the hang of kicking the ball yet but he knows how to throw it.  It was quite windy and the ball was only a lightweight thing so that was fun as it was carried away quite a bit.

We've also been tossing a lot of stuff from our house this week - well sorting it into piles to dispose of in various ways before we move.  One of the things that went today was our old 6 berth frame tent.  It has sat in our cellar for longer than I care to remember but it seemed fine.  We didn't get around to putting it up but we opened out the canvas and it looked ok, no sign of mildew or anything else.  Of course there's not a lot of call for heavy old fashioned style tents these days.  One of our friends put out some feelers for it and we had a guy come for it yesterday.  Today he brought it back.  He realised that the tent and poles took up so much space in his car there wouldn't be room for all the other equipment you need for camping!

Hubby then listed it on various local sites plus Facebook Marketplace and there was a lot of interest straight away.  Probably because it was free.  Anyway we let it go to the first taker and I'm not convinced that he's taken it to use, more likely he's taken it to try and sell it.  But hey we don't need the money and we're just glad not to have to take it to the new house when the time comes.

We have a lot more tossing to do!

  1. There are a lot of people who are doing that, finding things for free or at a thrift shop and selling them. I know several people who are doing it.

  2. Joe says we should move every two years so we can get rid of all the junk we accumulate. I'm not convinced! LOL I'm glad you had such a good day with Rory!! Thank you for the holiday wishes!

  3. Thank you for the holiday wishes. We are still here despite the terrible leader we have. I am guessing it is because there are enough patriots around him that total destruction isn’t possible. But if he isn’t gone come November I suspect a number of us will be knocking on your Queens door asking if she will take us back. Haha.

  5. I like the idea of giving away all those things I no longer need or want.

  6. Hi Wendy,
Good luck with sorting. I know it is a lot of work.
My friend Bonita is downsizing to a 700 foot home. I will be helping her downsize within the next few weeks.
    Take Care,
    Carla
