Friday's Fave Five - 21/8/20

Friday's Fave Five is hosted by Susanne.  To see how to take part and posts from other participants check out her blog: Living to Tell the Story.

Here are my 5 for this week:

1)  We saw Grandson Nathan on Saturday and Rory on Sunday.  Seeing them always brightens up my week.  Just wish we could see Noah more often.

2)  Cake!  We made dinner for Rory and his parents but my DIL brought a lovely cake for dessert.

3)  We seem to be moving forward with the house.  We've tentatively agreed on a completion date but the solicitors still need to finalise contracts so I'm not holding my breath yet.

4)  Productivity:

I made some masks this week.  Hubby and I both have a set of these so now we have plenty even when some are in the wash.  We haven't really been going out much to places where we've needed them but I'm sure as time goes on we'll be glad of them.

5)  More rain.  Not exactly what we want this time of year but we did need it.  The ground had been so dry there had been several forest fires but now the ground is definitely not dry!  And it's been cooler so much more bearable especially when you're trying to get things done!

Have a good weekend all.

  2. It is great that you got time with two of the grandsons. Your masks are nice. I just got a face shield and look forward to wearing it instead of a mask. Keep us posted about the move and the finalization of those contracts! Wishing you a good weekend!

  3. It's always nice to see your grandkids on the favorites list:) I really need to sit myself down and sew a few more masks. I just don't like the disposable ones. I bought a box to have a few extras in each car just in case we forget our homemade masks. The cotton ones are so much more comfortable, but I need a few more so I can toss them in the wash. I love the fabrics you've chosen for yours, so pretty. Our state is on fire! and so is the west coast which is 1800 miles away, but their smoke is now coming our way. The air quality is terrible. We need rain.

  4. I am back at work and we all wear masks all day. We walk around complimenting one another’s masks. I have purchased a few of them through Etsy and I will get a few more in the next few weeks as the Montessori school where I work will be opening up for on campus classes in September. I feel like we will all have to find a little spot in our top drawers for masks. Socks, underwear, and masks.

  5. I like the fabric prints on the masks.
We are hot and humid this week, with heat index in the high 90's. I am looking forward to when it cools down.

    1. Thanks Carla, I thought the prints were fun. Yes that's way too hot for my comfort. But much cooler here at the moment.

  6. glad you got some rain! here in NY we've had a HOT DRY summer....i'm not complaining as it's been great for kayaking and hiking but i'd love a good soaking this week to break the humidity and keep the grass from turning brown.

glad your house is moving along!

    cute masks.
