#JusJoJan Day 8 - Mongrel

jjj-2017

The prompt today is mongrel.  Full details of the rules etc can be found over at Linda's site.  Pop over there to see who else is joining in.
Today's prompt was supplied by Geoff of TanGentle

I definitely feel like a bit of a mongrel sometimes when it comes to my blogpage. I'm definitely no thoroughbred and I don't have much pedigree.

I'm talking about how sophisticated some blogs are, with pop up windows, music playing (although I'm usually looking for the mute button as soon as that happens) beautiful headers etc.  Some are also actual websites as opposed to being hosted by Wordpress, Blogger etc.

I do try to make changes to mine from time to time but actually I'm mostly happy with it.  The content of the posts is what's important to me and I know it's often more waffle than substance but it's my waffle, my blog.  It's a bonus when people read it and leave comments.

I'm happy to be a mongrel and I promise I don't have fleas!

  1. My Joe calls me a mongrel because my lineage is so mixed...German, English, Scottish, Irish, Scandinavian. He thinks he is 100% Italian. (We all know no one is 100% anything these days!)

  2. I don't care for the pop-ups and I cannot stand the automatic music. Ugh. I keep my sound off!

  3. I hate those popups, but I would like to figure out how to improve my blog eventually. Yours looks fine.

  4. I try to avoid movement - animation, etc. on my blog too. Mostly because it could cause problems with loading the page which can be quite annoying.

  5. I much prefer blogs like this to the "posh" ones. This is an "old fashioned" blog - and I mean that as a compliment. Back when blogging began, it was mostly a network of people who used their blogs to journal their life as it was, and got to know each other that way. No posed food photos with great lighting, no sponsored posts, no writing post for their "Pinterest-worthiness" and none of the millions of strategy posts about "maximising your blog influence.

I'd rather be here than there any day.

    Xx
