A - Z Road Trip - Day 5 - 8/9/16

Post A-to-Z Road Trip 2016

After a hiatus during August (filled with weddings and holiday) today is day 5 of my A-Z Road trip, visiting those bloggers who also signed up.  You can check out the complete list here

I'm trying to visit at least 5 blogs on the list per week and post my thoughts here on my blog.  These are my thoughts and while I hope not to be less than constructively critical I definitely don't want to cause anyone offence.

I'm working through the even numbers first so today I'm continuing at:

#34 Happiness and Food  This was a very interesting blog.  The writer, Parul, is based in Bangalore and the theme of her A-Z posts was Women. Posts were interesting and thought provoking.  Parul is an active blogger and worth checking out.

#36 Livin' La Vida Dog is a blog that seems to exist almost exclusively for the A-Z challenge.  It follows the adventures of Dixie and Dillon, 2 Australian Shepherd dogs.  Lovely pictures of the dogs but if you're a cat person or not an animal person you could easily skip this one.  The dogs owner also blogs at California Dreamin' Squirrel.

#38 is Livre it to me   which is a blog centred around books and book reviews.  The A-Z posts tailed off a bit towards the end but there were some good topics and the writer is consistent in the way she reviews books.

Now the trouble with the Road Trip is that it's easy to get sidetracked.  My next stop:

#40 is Forty C'est Fantastique
has done just that. I've visited this site occasionally when taking part in the SoCS challenge but missed the A-Z posts.  The writer is American but a lover of all things French and this year's posts are all tips on how to learn French.  Something that interests me as we have french relatives.  The posts are now bookmarked to read properly.

Having been sidetracked it's time to catch up on the mundane chores around the house that won't do themselves.  Although a lady of leisure I do like to lounge in clean sheets and clothes and they don't wash themselves.  Wouldn't it be great if they did?  Although I think my hubby suspects they do!

A-Z Road Trip - Day 4 - 29/7/16

Post A-to-Z Road Trip 2016

Today is day 4 of my A-Z Road trip, visiting those bloggers who also signed up.

#32 A quiet girl's musings of a world that talks too much

Well I started this post yesterday and got sidetracked with cooking dinner and when I returned to it today I got totally sidetracked by Ericka's blog.  Her theme for the A-Z Challenge was to have no theme so her posts were totally random and varied and I found myself working my way through them.  It helped that there was a tab on the page detailing the posts.

Ericka is an avid reader and takes part in several challenges that are updated on the blog which is worth checking out.

Unfortunately the prolonged stop there has thrown my schedule out.  I have a list of jobs as long as my arm plus my regular Friday blog posts to get done.  Hopefully I can get out on the road trip again over the weekend.

A-Z Road Trip - Day 3 - 21/7/16

Post A-to-Z Road Trip 2016

Today is day 3 of my A-Z Road trip, visiting those bloggers who also signed up.

#24. Temenos - Deborah Weber
Deborah is clearly a very spiritual person and her A-Z posts formed a manifesto based on her favourite unusual words.  Certainly an interesting theme and one that was completed.  Her reflections post also helpfully listed all the entries with links.

#26 The Truck Travellor This title is quite self-explanatory.  Written by Zeljka a trucker's wife the A-Z posts are based around places they have visited in Eastern Europe.  She has also produced an ebook of the A-Z posts.   Worth a visit if you want to learn more about Eastern Europe.

#28 is Jingle Jangle Jungle - Mary's blog is all about music and her A-Z posts were about women in music.  If you like music and the facts and figures to go with that then take a visit.  She also takes part in Battle of the Bands.

#30 is Quantum Hermit and is another very musical blog and it also hosts  The Monday Music Medicine Show.

Well I've only managed 4 blogs on this list today but it's very hot here in London at the moment so I'm finding it hard to get much done. But I'm still on track so I'm happy with that.

Watch out for the next instalment.

A-Z Road Trip, Day 2 14/7/16

Today I’m doing another leg of my A-Z Road trip, visiting those bloggers who also signed up.  You can check out the list here

I'm hoping to visit at least 5 blogs on the list per week and post my thoughts here on my blog.  These are my thoughts and while I hope not to be less than constructively critical I definitely don't want to cause anyone offence.

I’m starting at #12 this week – The Write Game This is the blog of writer C.Lee McKenzie a published author.  It’s a very professional looking blog that’s regularly updated.  The A-Z posts followed the theme of Cuba with lots of interesting facts and well worth a visit.

#14 is New England Momma and this is the blog for you if you’re a mum in New England or if you like camping, the theme used for the A-Z challenge.  The challenge was almost completed but there have only been a few posts since.  But I didn’t have time for blogging when my kids were young either.

#16 is Penguin’s Wanderlust who is a follower of The Burning Man which apparently is an art festival that takes place in the Black Rock Desert.  Another professional looking blog but, and I may be wrong, there didn’t seem to be any A-Z posts!  Enough said.
There was mention of taking part in a video blog a day challenge in April but I find watching video blogs can quickly take huge chunks of time and I tend to skip them unless the subject matter really catches my attention.

So after this short detour I moved on to #18 - Thoughts and Opionions There haven’t been a great number of posts on this blog since the challenge but the challenge posts were very detailed and had lots of photos and were all about places in India where the blogger is from.  Definitely worth a look if you’re thinking of visiting India any time soon.

#20 was another detour!  The link is Silence is Poetic and the blog is silent in that it seems to consist entirely of pictures (quite often beautiful landscapes) with quotes superimposed on them.  But none of them followed the A-Z challenge.  The whole blog was pretty anonymous too but hey we all have our own reasons for blogging.

Having had two detours I decided to plod on in the hope of finding a current blog with an A-Z challenge successfully completed.

#22 Daily Musings on a bed of fresh snark didn’t disappoint.  The blogger, Debra Strege, tells it how it is.  The challenge was completed and Debra posts regularly.  She describes herself as “ an authentic, enthusiastic, passionate communicator. I have a natural curiosity that translates to knowledgeable, relevant, witty and, where needed, snarky communications! It is because I take the quality of my product seriously that playfulness and humor are essential.”
This comes through in her writing.

I decided to take a rest while I felt ahead.  More next time.
