Your prompt for #JusJoJan the 6th and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “just do it.” Use the phrase “just do it” somewhere in your post, or write a post in the spirit of the phrase. Enjoy!
Yes today is a little different as it's Saturday so the regular #SoCS prompt is combined with Just Jot it January - both are hosted by Linda with full details here.
I remembered doing a post about "Just do it" a while ago tagged under procrastination. I was surprised that it was back in 2015 but that was not a good year for me - I had left my job and was not in a good place. I think I was probably the Queen of Procrastination but I'd decided at that point that enough was enough and that my mantra should be "Just do it!"
Of course it's good to revisit things every so often because although I'm sure I had good intentions back then of getting off my backside and doing things, it's so easy to fall back into bad habits.
Moving house is a great way of making you do things but then you settle into the new house and drift back into old habits. It's much easier to pick up a book to read, or switch on the TV or just scroll on my phone than it is to actually tackle the stuff that needs doing.
Developing new habits take time and although I was doing very well with getting out for a walk most days, the Christmas period and the spell of very wet weather we've had here have meant I haven't been walking as much this past week or so.
But, tomorrow the forecast is for dry weather, although a bit colder than it has been so, I'm going to get up and just go for a walk. I know I'll feel better for doing so and hopefully it will keep me on track with other things to so thanks Linda for the reminder.
Since my Joe died (3 years next month) "just do it" has been a mantra for me, too. We used to share chores but now if it's going to get done, I have to "just do it". It has helped a bit with my procrastination tendencies. LOL Have a good week ahead, Wendy.
ReplyDeleteYes it's helped me - a bit - I still procrastinate lol
