I don't consider myself to be an eavesdropper but I do like to know what's going on and there's often a case of FOMO when I'm out with a group of people trying to keep up with all the various conversations.
I used to be better at that - marrying into a large family meant there was always more than one conversation going on around the dining table for example and I could keep track of the main parts of each one. Now I find it quite hard to listen to multiple conversations and keep track of them. Must be getting old.
