Hmm well I am being rubbish at getting around to responding to comments left here. I blame it on the grandkids who were here all last week. I'll try and do better this week but thank you to all of you that have stopped by and left me a comment.
The rubbish collections have been quite challenging here. We always used to get our main rubbish and recycling collected every week with the garden and food waste being once a fortnight. Recently they provided us with separate bins for food waste which is collected weekly and is used to make bio fuel which is, of course, great. But...now our general waste is only being collected fortnightly so we have to remember whether it's a black bin week (general rubbish) or brown bin week (garden waste). Then of course throw Easter into the mix and who knows when the bins will be emptied. Although according to the council e-mail it should be the same day as normal, i.e. tomorrow. I won't hold my breath and I'm hoping I'm right and that it's black bin week as mine is very full!
Right rant over let's get to the R countries:

We just this minute remembered to get our very full bins out. My daughters have both been to Romania with Young Life. My hubs has been to Russia a few times for work. His brother lived there for a couple of years which made the trips nicer for him. I don't see myself getting to any of these. Hope you have a nice week! I understand how hard it is to spend time on your blog with grandkids in the house : )
ReplyDeleteWe have the household waste one week with a box for tins and another for glass and the next week we have recycling with card and paper and a different bin for garden waste. It's funny how different councils work. I need to check when our bin is emptied this week and whether it will be a day late because of the bank holiday today. x

ReplyDeleteNo R countries. As to rubbish, we live rurally and have waste transfer stations (they transfer to wherever...) for each county. Recently a local started a trash pickup business for a reasonable price so we started using them. Well, except for recyclable items, those we still take ourselves.

Zero countries for me today. Isn’t it interesting to compare such a simple thing as rubbish collections in different places. We have a green bin for garden waste, yellow bin for recycling, and red bin general rubbish. Nothing specifically for food waste (in our temps it could get disgusting). Green and yellow alternate fortnightly and red is weekly.
ReplyDeleteOur garbage bin system is the same, thankfully I don't have to take the bins out as I have what is called a blue dot service which means they come down the driveway to collect the bin
ReplyDeleteGosh, your trash pick-ups seem complicated!! We have a green bin for general trash and a blue bin for recyclables. Yard trash can be left in a pile by the street. Trucks come through on our assigned trash day (Tuesday) and it all gets collected. I'm glad we don't have to remember which day for which color!! Your A-Z is almost done. April is flying by.
