3. May 28th is National Hamburger Day...will you celebrate? How do you like yours? If you're not cooking at home is there a favourite place you like to go for a burger? Did you ever work in a fast food restaurant?
No I will not celebrate but I will have a burger occasionally when we eat out - particularly at a pub. I like it cooked through but not overdone. I've never worked in a fast food restaurant or wanted to.
4. What are three scents you like?
The perfume I wear (Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana)
Lavender
Coffee (even though I don't drink it!)
I was also going to add babies - that unique smell of a newborn baby but so often babies often smell of what's in their nappy (diaper) lol.
5. What do you miss most about being a kid?
Not much really. I guess the freedom from responsibility was quite nice.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I'm looking forward to starting a new knitting project and I love being able to order things online - waiting on delivery of a yarn winder - I have skeins of yarn that need winding for both the next two projects and I don't think Hubby will want to sit holding them for me and I couldn't find anything in the house that I could improvise with. And who doesn't love a new toy?
I also ordered a bracelet style strap for my Fitbit for when I wear it going out - wish I'd thought of it before last Saturday's wedding but at least I'll have it for the wedding we're going to next month.
I also found some diffuser oil refill. I'm all about reusing, refilling recycling etc when I can.
Enjoy the rest of the week all.
How interesting that someone would shorten your name to Wend. I know a Wendy and that has never even entered my mind.
ReplyDeleteI love our dining room, too. It sounds like your room gets even more use than ours. Your comment about the smell of babies made me chuckle -- a fresh and clean baby does smell so sweet . . .but those diapers can smell pretty gross haha!
Hi Wendy, I'm with Lisa in saying I would never think of shortening Wendy to Wend. Oh you reminded me of the sweet baby scent. Your 'hub' sounds like a special place for sure. I hope the last few days of May are lovely in your corner of the world!
ReplyDeleteI don't know that I would think of shortening Wendy, and wouldn't do that unless you introduced yourself that way. If someone introduces themself as Matthew or Michael I don't shorten those either. I do love a newborn scent. And coffee too. I kind of forgot about the smell of coffee when I mentioned my favorites. I have an iWatch and bought a bracelet to wear with it. I love it!
ReplyDeleteLike Lisa and Ellen above, I wouldn't think of shortening Wendy to Wend. Some names are ripe for shortening, but I wouldn't have thought Wendy was one of them. Mine seems to be!! LOL Teresa is Terri (which I like better), but I've been called Ter, Tee, TD, Terri D, TeeLee (middle name Lee).... I just answer to them. Whatever. I have a very sensitive nose and heavy scents can give me a headache (or worse). No perfumes allowed in my house and I have been known to pew-hop in church when someone sits near with perfume on. Some are okay, but most are not. Have a blessed Wednesday!!
ReplyDeleteHi, I got annoyed just reading that someone would shorten your name to Wend.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to you showing us your new knitting project.
Happy Hodgepodge!
Carla
I really enjoyed reading your Hodgepodge answers! Your dining room sounds like such a warm, central hub—I love when one space brings everything together. I completely understand the frustration with name shortening—people should respect how we introduce ourselves! Your scent list made me smile—coffee is one of my favorites too, even though I only drink it occasionally. Also, I had to laugh at your “baby scent” comment—so true! Your upcoming knitting project sounds exciting, and that yarn winder will be a game changer. Great idea on the Fitbit strap too—functional and stylish. Hope you enjoy the rest of your week!
ReplyDeleteYour dining room sounds like a lovely place to spend time.
ReplyDeleteMy parents called me Kim so no one could shorten my name, I have the opposite and most people assume my name is Kimberly and don't believe me when I say it's not. lol
That baby smell is so good, especially when they're fresh out of the bath.
Good luck with your new knitting project.
I remember when I got a yarn winder years ago. My son was the happiest of everyone in the family because he no longer had to be the one who held his arms out for endless minutes while I hand-wound each new skein. Lol!!
ReplyDeleteLiked these answers, laptops are difficult to use if sat on ones lap, so a kinda silly name for them
ReplyDeleteYou inspired me to join the Hodgepodge this week :)
ReplyDeleteI love Light Blue and always spritz some on when I find it at the store. It's such a pretty scent.
I wouldn't like it if someone shortened my name without asking, either. I do have a couple of friends who call me 'Kar', and I'm fine with them doing it. We're very close. But, it doesn't happen otherwise.
Enjoyed your answers. I am sometimes annoyed when people mis pronounce my name. It's Kirstin..but I get the sound Keersten, or Kristen...:/
