Susanne reminds us every Friday to look back on the week and write about the things we are grateful for. Then we link up here. Thanks Susanne.
1) The smell of fresh Banana Bread. I brought some bananas home from the Foodbank yesterday - we had lots that were not going to last until next Tuesday's session so volunteers were able to have some. So of course I had to make banana bread with them.
2) The library. I know I mention this one a lot but it does feature in my routine frequently. This week I made a trip on Tuesday to pick up a couple of books I'd picked out for my 52 Book Club Challenge and then on Wednesday we had our afternoon book club meeting there where we discussed Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Evaristo. We had a really good discussion about it although personally I was not a fan of the book. And while I was there I was also able to pick up another book I only ordered in last week.
3) My Hubby. He's always got my back and you will know that he does most of the cooking in our house. He's not so good at remembering other chores, like putting the dustbins out but this week he even remembered to do that. After checking which bins had to go out of course.
4) Chocolate cake. My daughter and DIL hosted DILs brothers and families for lunch last Sunday. They had leftovers and I was able to go over for a cup of tea and chocolate cake to collect some.
5) Getting back into routines and hobbies. I've definitely been blogging more and I do enjoy the interaction with other bloggers. I've also made time for reading so that is becoming a habit again and this week I did some knitting (we had a Knit and Natter meet up on Wednesday) and I've finally finished knitting the jumper I started an age ago. I just need to sew up the sleeve seams, tidy up ends etc and block it. You might even get to see me model it! (Don't hold your breath lol.)
Have a good weekend all.
I haven't been to our library in so long! Cherish your hubby - I know you do! And who doesn't like chocolate cake?!! Have a blessed and happy weekend, Wendy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Terri
DeleteLibrary visits always mean more books to read.
ReplyDeleteKnit and Natter sounds like fun. I am looking forward to seeing your finished jumper!
Tea and cake is a perfect way to enjoy a few hours.
Have a good week!
Thanks Linda.
DeleteYum to the banana bread and chocolate cake! The library sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThere's always something going on at the library and I think it's good to support it.
DeleteAll these household scores I don't have to do anymore, but when Rick was still there he always took the bin out on the street, they were very heavy (in metal) I wait for the day I feel normal again It's already a bit better ! Dario should come today but I called him not to come, I really felt awful !
ReplyDeleteOur bins are plastic and have wheels so it's not that hard to put them out. Sorry you're still not feeling well.
DeleteMmmm I love banana bread! I made some a few weeks ago. I often make apple zucchini (courgette) bread that is delicious. I've been doing some kitting as well...but I'm nowhere near actually finishing anything. Process not project.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh as my knitting often takes ages to get finished. I've made a cake with courgettes before. It wasn't bad but we prefer the banana bread.
DeleteThese are all wonderful blessings!! I too am thankful for my hubby. If you think of it, please say a prayer for him. He's struggling with the fact that his 91 yr old mom now has to be in memory care facility. It's been rough. thank you.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE banana bread and rarely make it. I'll have to rectify that. YAY for town libraries.I'm at mine just about weekly.
have a good rest of the weekend.
Thanks Faith.
DeleteLibraries are such a great blessing. Our local one is right down the street, but I haven't been in a while because I have so many books at home to read. But I love knowing it is there. Banana bread and chocolate cake are great treats. It's nice your husband does all the cooking.
ReplyDeleteOh I have lots of books piled up and ready to read but they don't all fit the challenge I'm doing. I might skip the challenge next year and just wade through my to be read pile!
DeleteYour hubby sounds like a keeper. Mine doesnt cook but he does the majority of clean up after supper. Love local libraries! I've been trying hard to get thru some of the books sitting in my own closet. You have to model your jumper now that you've put it out there! ;)
