And it's Friday again. Another week done in Lockdown, which I'm finding really hard. I haven't had much enthusiasm for blogging lately or much else BUT 2 things on my 21 in 21 list are to be positive and to complete this meme each week.
So here we go:
1) I'm grateful that we didn't downsize when we moved and we still have enough room to have family here. We had my daughter and her family here last weekend from Friday until Monday. They've had a problem at their house so they decamped to here. It's lovely being able to spend time with them all but it's also nice to have peace and quiet when they go home.
2) I got to meet up with my lunching ladies last week. Outside of course and socially distanced. It was good to see them after such a long time. Even if it was raining on and off!
3) I had an online chat with my cousins last Friday. One of their daughters had Covid but seems to be recovering.
4) Covid testing is now widely available to families with kids in school and we were glad of that this week as a member of staff at Grandson Nathan's school had tested positive so his class were all sent home. Fortunately Nathan and his Mummies all tested negative and have all been fine.
5) The clocks go forward this weekend! Days will seem longer, spring is definitely here and on Monday our restrictions start to ease - we can meet up with 6 people outside or 2 families. It's a start to getting back to a new normal. Whatever that may be.
So despite not being in the most positive frame of mind I am aware that I have lots to be thankful for including Susanne at Living to Tell the Story who hosts this meme.
So glad your Covid restrictions are loosening up. It's so nice that your home is big enough for you to have family stay with you. So glad you took the time to join in Friday Favorites. Have a good weekend. See you again soon.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to hear some of your restrictions are loosening. Also good that Nathan and his moms tested negative. It feels good, doesn't it, to be meeting with friends again. Have a blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope your restrictions can continue to loosen up.
ReplyDeleteHaving friend time is so important! Even if it rains a bit.
We didn't downsize either (we up-sized a bit). So we can have a bit more room for company. It's nice that Older Daughter can work remotely at our house in one room, her son do homeschool work in another and The Professor and I still have a bit of room to ourselves.
Enjoy the spring weekend!
You are lucky that your daughter could stay with you ! Here the restrictions went even worse, now they closed again all non essential shops (for the owners it's essential) and instead of 10 people meeting outside it's only 4 ! I don't know how they want to control it ! And all that because they haven't ordered enough vaccins ! Some was sent to the UK by error beca&use somebody thought they were still member of the EU !! Of course the UK refuses to give them back, which I would do too ! So they try keep the statistics high and include now the small children which last year wasn't done ! It's just crazy. Poor Riccardo only sees the nurses and doctors no visitors allowed ! Next week I will get (hopefully) the result of all tests and then we will see what to do further ! Fortunately we have very good insurance on top of the legal one !
ReplyDeleteso you're not REALLY in lockdown if you're able to go and have lunch with friends. A real lockdown is when everything is shut down...whew...i was starting to wonder why England was still in a lockdown! Things are opening up here more and more. Today my husband and I will get our vaccine!
ReplyDeleteyay that your daughter could stay with you....that's a blessing for sure and extra time with your grandson.
I hope you are enjoying the start of Spring and feeling the blessing of the coming celebration of our Risen Redeemer!!
Glad to hear Nathan and family all are feeling fine and tested negative. It will be nice to have more of your restrictions lifted this week. We can meet with up to 10 people outside as long as we are distanced but we are still not able to have anyone not from our own households inside. Not seeing friends and family has been the most difficult.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to be able to have room for family to visit. I had assumed we'd need to downsize in a few years when my husband retires. But we refinanced to take advantage of lower interest rates here, and he thinks we'll be ok in this house.
ReplyDeleteI just started meeting up with other people again since we had our vaccines a couple of weeks ago. It still feels weird--maybe it will just take some getting used to, since we've been mostly home for a year--or maybe it won't feel normal until COVID has ebbed out a good deal more. It's good restrictions are starting to ease.
