Friday's Fave Five - 17/11/23

Well Friday is nearly over so I need to get my skates on and get this post done before I turn into Cinderella!

Susanne keeps us on our toes, reminding us to look back on the week and find the good things.  You can find her blog here.

These are mine for the week:

1)  A lovely meal with Hubby's siblings last Saturday.  We were the hosts and it went very well.  I blogged about it in more detail here.

2)  I finally finished the knitted pig I was making for Ella's birthday.  She turned 3 today and we will see her tomorrow for a family celebration with all the grandkids.

3)  A decent pair of wellies that are comfortable and waterproof.

As you can see my walk today involved a lot of mud.  I walked around the lake and thanks to all the rain we've had the paths are VERY muddy.  Wellies are a necessity so I'm glad of a comfy pair.  I'm also glad that we can access the rear of our house from outside so I don't have to carry the boots through the house!

4)  A nice couple of hours with Ella on Wednesday.  We spent ages "playing" Kerplunk.

She was more interested in just dropping the marbles down the chute than really playing the game but it kept her occupied for quite a while and then we moved on to Playdough.

5)  Noah and Miles are here for the weekend!  (And my son and his wife of course and not forgetting Ness the greyhound.)

Looking forward to us all getting together for Ella's birthday tomorrow and then on Sunday our station is celebrating 150 years of the railway being here.

Hope you all have a good weekend too.

  1. You still play Kerplunk? I remember that from when I was a kid...

  2. Ella looks like she is having fun. I just gave some toys to my friends granddaughter. That little piggie is so cute! Nice that you could take a walk after the rain with your wellies. I am in the city and we don't get out much to the parks that are mostly grassy or paved. Enjoy your weekend!

  3. Ella's pig is adorable and so is she!! Have fun with the boys and your family!! Hugs!

  4. So glad your family dinner when well. It looks like little Ella is really having fun with Kerplunk. The little knitted pig is darling! Ellas will love it! We have snow in our forecast so I will be getting my snow boots out soon. I don't have any wellies. I think it probably rains much more where you are. I hope you have a nice weekend. See you again soon!

  5. Oh my goodness what a sweet little pig! You are very talented.

  6. You are now in the midst of Ella's party, so do wish her a Happy Birthday from across the pond.
I chuckled when I thought, "Noah and Miles were accompanied by their parents..."
Those wellies look like my daughter's. She lives in them since she walks the dogs all the time. I think I need a pair!
Is your pig a pattern from Little Cotton Rabbits? Looks familiar!

  7. The little pig turned out so cute. I hope Ella has/is having a wonderful birthday celebration! I should get Kerplunk for my grandson.

  8. The little pig is adorable and ella playing Kerplunk reminds me of our family game nights when my oldest was 9 and our youngest was 4. we would play that over and over!! The youngest loved it. hahah

Happy Birthday to your darling grand girl and enjoy the company of your two grandsons.

Love taking walks around our lakes here. It's been a glorious autumn season here in New YOrk State. and hardly any deep frost yet!! YAY!

  9. Sounds like a wonderful time with your family.

  10. I love the little pig. Did she name the pig?
    Enjoy all the family time.

  11. That is the cutest little pig! Kerplunk used to be a favorite game of mine as a child and I played it with my kids too. Fun memories you are building with your little Ella! Happy birthday to her!
