Friday's Fave Five- 2/3/18

Friday is time to look back on the week and find five things to be grateful for.  Drop in to Susanne at Living to Tell the Story for full details and other participants.

Here are mine for this week:

1) Snow!
Although it's not the snow I'm thankful for it's the fact that I live where I have the prettiness of the snow but haven't been snowed in.  We've had one of the worst spells of winter weather this week for many years but fortunately our transport services are still running and shops are within walking distance.  Some areas have been hit much harder and roads have been treacherous but here in London we're carrying on fairly normally albeit in lots of layers of clothes!

2) Seeing Nathan.  I managed to get over there on Monday.  He is such a joy.  Even when he's grumpy and needs a ride out in his buggy to get some sleep!

3)  Catch up TV - great when you're stuck indoors and have a pile of ironing to get through.

4)  Good heating - definitely needed it this week.

5)  The safe return of my two sons from a stag weekend in Krakow (Poland). One of their best friends is getting married in May so a group of about 18 of them went to Krakow for the weekend.  It's a cheap place to go and although they are all in their late twenties so not really youngsters you do worry when there was bound to be alcohol involved that they will all get back safely.  Thankfully they did but I think it was wise they had both booked a day off on Monday to recover!

Have a good weekend all.

  2. You haven't seen snow until you've lived in the Great northeast!!! Here in the capital region of New York we are in the midst of a nor'easter even though Wednesday the temps were close to 70 degrees! We now have 8 inches of white stuff on the ground! Ugh! Prayer for spring comes soon!!

So glad your son made it home safely. It's too bad when youngsters think the only way to have fun is with alcohol involved😢.

Nathan sounds so cute!hemust be getting big!

Enjoy your weekend and stay warm!

  3. You are having an unsually cold and long winter and we down here are having an ealy start as well. Not that cold yet, but lots of rain (which is pretty unusual) and cooler temps. Actually some places are starting to flood.
Your snow is pretty, but I'm sure you'll be glad when it's gone.

  4. It is very picturesque but those chill winds have not been fun. Have a good week.

  5. That's good that your roads are still good to travel on in the snow. Where we are, everything pretty much closes down when we get more than a dusting - they just can't spend the money on all the equipment when we'd only need it 2-3 times a year. My son lives in the Northeast and it's a whole different situation there - they're equipped to shovel and treat the roads there, so life pretty much goes on, though it's still slippery in places.

So good you got to go out and see Nathan! And that your sons got back safely. I did that with ironing last Saturday - got caught up on some shows I had recorded but not watched yet. It does make the job pleasanter!

  6. Here in California we are finally getting some much-needed rain (and snow in the mountains), for which I am grateful. Enjoy your snow--and, of course, your heat!

  7. Good heating is truly a blessing especially when you are getting all that cold and snow.
I'm glad your sons got home safely!
And it's always a good week when you get to see Nathan!

  8. It must have been quite cold in Poland too ! It's nice that you can see Nathan so often, I didn't have the opportunity 250 km each time and then they were so helicopter parents ! Still are but it's a bit better, Toby protests !!

  9. We have had so much snow here that even my snow loving self has had enough! I'm with you on being thankful for heating! Glad you got to get out and visit with your precious Nathan in spite of the snow.
