Have fun!

1. What's something that has recently 'tried your patience'?
Helping hubby to complete some online banking transactions.  He is so technophobic and he does take a while sometimes to grasp new things.
2. Do you think patience comes to us naturally or is it something you have to learn as you grow? On a scale of 1-10 generally how patient are you? (1=I blow up at the drop of a hat and 10=I've got all the time in the world).
I think we’re all born with the ability to be patient but we have to nurture and develop that skill and sometimes our circumstances make that difficult.  I’m quite a patient person (some might say stubborn and persistent) for example I love doing puzzles and can spend ages trying to finish things.  I’m quite patient with people too (hubby probably excluded) so I rarely blow at the drop of a hat. (If I do it will be because of something really major and in that case take cover.)  I guess I’m an 8-9, especially since I have had more time but to say 10 would imply perfection and nobody’s perfect.
3. Share about a time when you felt like you could fly. Or a time you wished you could fly. Or a time you felt like you were flying.
That’s a hard one.  I think if you associate the feeling of flying as a feel good moment I get those a lot when I’m sitting back and observing my extended family.  We currently span 4 generations and there’s not one bad egg amongst them and watching the dynamics between the different generations and noting how the babies I’ve had and shared in have grown into wonderful young people is a good feeling.
(Of course there have been time when, particularly my own offspring, have made me feel like I’m flying down a black hole too! Lol)
4. Your favourite song with the word fly in the title or lyrics, or your favourite song that relates to flying in some way?

5. What's in your fall picnic basket and where are we picnicking in your neck of the woods this time of year?
Well it’s getting a bit chilly for picnicking so I guess I’d throw in a thermos of soup to warm us up but to be truthful if we were out walking for example we’d probably choose to picnic in a warm old country pub.
6.  Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping...which skill would you most like to possess and how would you put that skill to use today?
Oh I would love to have all those skills.  My house is a work in progress and although I want to do the basics of decorating, any major jobs requiring skills will mean calling someone in.  Carpentry would probably be the most useful of those for what I have to get done.
7. What's something you think is too expensive to justify buying lately?
Since coming down to one income I’m a lot more careful with shopping and I make sure any red wine we buy is on offer.  Not prepared to give it up but don’t need to spend a fortune on it.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
I’m thankful that my MIL has come through her mastectomy op well and will be able to join us at my daughter’s wedding at the end of next week.

  7. I like how you think, Wendy (on the picnic/pub).

I'm sure you're much too busy to be looking at your blog today, but I hope the wedding goes just perfectly! :)

  8. Thanks for the Neil Patrick Harris intro.....
I like being a person with patience but it seems to be getting harder to do in our crazy world. That warm country pub sounds perfect! I agree with you on the wine. There are many good ones that don't cost an arm and a leg. That is great news about your MIL and have the best of times at your daughters wedding.
