Friday's Fave Five 2/9/16

http://susannesspace.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/fridays-fave-five-395.html

It's Friday so it's time to join in with Suzanne's Friday's Fave Five.

It's a place to come on Fridays and think back over your week and just post about 5 favourite things from your week. It can be anything that tickled your fancy over the week. Favourite quotes, posts, happenings, scriptures, recipes, pictures, great internet finds, etc., etc.

Well it's been a couple of  few weeks since I've posted a Friday Five.  I actually only managed one post in August and we're now into September!  But it has been a busy time so I'll use today's Five to catch up on the last few weeks.

1.  Weddings!  We had 3 weddings in August.  Last Sunday we attended our Goddaughter Katy's wedding in Kent.  We've been friends of her family for 30 years.  Her mum Kim is my best friend and we met when I had my first child.  We went on to have 3 children each and they were really close as youngsters.  They've taken different paths as they've grown up but we still love to get together and catch up.  Katy is a mature young woman and she's known her husband since she was a teenager.  It was lovely to attend her wedding.

The week before we attended the wedding of one of hubbys cousins in Guildford.  All hubby's siblings and partners attended and we stayed at the venue so we were able to spend some time together the next day.  The weather wasn't too kind to us but we still managed to enjoy ourselves.

Prior to that we had THE wedding - my son's.  I've posted about that separately HERE.

2.  Sunshine!  We've had a lot of it recently but it looks like we might have some rain over the weekend.

3.  Family holiday - we've just had a week away in Kent with all hubby's family.  We hire a huge house and mostly just chill.  There is a pool and tennis court and it's just lovely to relax and catch up with everyone and have plenty to eat and drink.

4.  Blogging friendships - in August I actually met up with another Friday Fiver - Gattina.  She was visiting London and suggested we meet up.  We had a lovely afternoon in one of London's garden squares.

Here we are:(I'm on the left)
5.  Organisational skills.  Since I gave up work I haven't really had to use these very much but I volunteered to sort out the food for the family holiday.  It tested my organisational skills to the limit but happily it was like riding a bike and everyone had plenty to eat and drink and seemed happy with the meals prepared.

  8. Indeed you are into weddings ! I only have one wedding now in September my neighbour, she is 63 and marries an 65 old widow. A bit special because nobody understands to get married at this age, not even her children ! What an excellent idea to rent a house all together.
