Fridays Fave Five 30/9/16

http://susannesspace.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/fridays-fave-five-395.html

It's Friday so it's time to join in with Suzanne's Friday's Fave Five.

It's a place to come on Fridays and think back over your week and just post about 5 favourite things from your week. It can be anything that tickled your fancy over the week. Favourite quotes, posts, happenings, scriptures, recipes, pictures, great internet finds, etc., etc.

If you want to take part or visit other Fave Five posts, click on the picture above to go to host Suzanne's site and check out the linky list.

I didn't join in last week so I was determined to be here today.  Here are mine:

1.  Me time.  It's been a mad 2 weeks with works going on and then a couple of funerals to attend so today I was just glad to make some me time to just chill, read and catch up on some taped TV.

2.  A clean bill of health.  I had my annual medication review today (I take medication to keep my blood pressure at normal levels) and it was all fine.  I need to get some blood tests done but hopefully they won't throw up any issues.

3.  A family outing.  Last Saturday we celebrated hubby's sister's 60th birthday.  All the siblings and partners got together for the day.  We went for a walk in the nearby forest park during the afternoon and then for a meal in the evening.  It was lovely.

4.  Family Sunday lunch - all the kids and their partners were here for lunch on Sunday.  It was the first time we were all together since the end of August.

5. Faith.  The funerals we were at this week were both for people who had died suddenly and unexpectedly.  Despite how sad these funerals were it served as a reminder that there is more than this life here on earth.

Tomorrow we're off to a happier event - a family baptism.  Have a great weekend all.

  1. My week has been similar - minus the funerals. Well, actually ,there was one for someone at church this week, but I didn't know them and the timing didn't work out that I could go. This afternoon has been my first time to just chill, and I needed it! Glad you got some me time in the busy-ness.

Always good to get a clean bill of health and to get together with family.

I agree about funerals - hard as they are, they do help put things into perspective and remind us of the life to come.

  2. Me time was one of my favorites this week, too. I just relish those days when there is nothing on the calendar. Family time is always a favorite in my book. How nice that you got to enjoy your siblings and your kids.

    Enjoy your weekend, Wendy!

  5. Sounds like you had a good week (with the exception of 2 funerals). I'm glad you got good news from the doctor. That is interesting that you have an annual medication review! Good idea!

  6. Those family outings and dinners sound so lovely. Our children all live very very far away on the other side of the US (except the one in Arizona) and all my family lives in the state north of us, so we don't get much family time with my brother. Miss that. You are blessed.
I'm glad you've had some me time--that's important!

  7. So nice you were able to have a family celebration and a family lunch in the same week. Glad you were able to catch a relax time for yourself in what sounds like a busy and emotional kind of week.

  9. Glad you got a clean bill of health. That's always such a relief to hear the doctor say all is well. Sunday lunch with your family must have been nice. It's rare that all of my family gets together at the same time and we always enjoy it when we do. Have a great week!
