Have fun!

1. When was the last time you relocated? Did you move yourself or leave it to the professionals? Are you happy staying put or is there a move in your future? Best thing about moving to a new city or town? Least favourite and/or hardest thing about moving house?

We have only moved once during our married life of 31 years.  That was in 1993 when we’d expanded to 3 children and wanted a bigger house.  We didn’t actually move far but we had a removal company move everything – well apart from the tumble dryer that was nearly forgotten in the conservatory.  That went in the back of the car.

Now we are empty nesters so I expect a downsize will happen at some point but we love where we are so it might be hard to find a suitable alternative.  I’ve never moved to a new town really but I’m sure it must be fun exploring.  I think the hardest thing about moving is sorting out all the “stuff” you accumulate into what really needs to move and what really needs to get dumped!

2. When were you last 'moved to tears'? Explain.
Yesterday morning.  I was still reeling from the shock of having had to put the cat down the night before when my son rang to announce his engagement.  More tears but happy ones.

3. Do you have rules about eating in the car...any forbidden foods? What's the last thing you consumed in your car? Your go-to car snack when traveling long distance?

No rules really but we don’t often need to eat in the car.  Although I guess I’d probably prefer things that are less likely to create a mess.  Last thing I ate in the car?  Some fries from McDonald’s.  I couldn’t wait until I got them home.

4. Share a favourite song relating to cars and/or driving.
I’m not a music expert.  I just stick some CDs into the player and play them until I get bored with them and then swap them for some other CDs or I listen to the radio.

5. What's your most frequently visited drive-thru...Starbucks? the bank? the pharmacy? some other window?
Umm that would be McDonald’s.  Our banks and pharmacies don’t tend to be drive-thru.

6. "He who hesitates is lost"...would you agree? When it comes to making decisions do you generally act quickly or do you more often than not fall into the 'lost' category?

I don’t agree because some decisions cannot be taken lightly and the pros and cons have to be weighed up.  I am pretty good at making quick decisions when it’s appropriate though.

7. When was the last time you got lost? Was it stressful or an unexpected happy adventure?

I can’t actually remember the last time I got lost.  And that’s not thanks to a super duper Sat Nav – I still rely on maps and printed directions researched before any unfamiliar journey.  I also turn maps upside down if necessary so the left and right turns make sense!  I have quite a good sense of direction and I’m quite observant which helps.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
Looking forward to seeing my son and future DIL next week to see her ring and hear about their plans.  She already has some Pinterest boards started.  My son did a good job of surprising her and making it romantic so I’m proud of him.

  3. I use my GPS on my phone but I still look at Google Maps and sometimes print them out.

I'm so happy for your son and future daughter in law. Our son got engaged last year before they moved away. I am hoping that they marry at some point. They have lived together for six years. I think they plan on starting a family a year from now so I would imagine that is when they get married!

My cat just turned one a week ago, she's a handful but i'm glad we have another cat in the house, i missed Clammy (my previous) a lot so my sister surprised us with a kitten last Christmas. I know it hurts right now, i have been there. :( Hang in there.
