It's Friday again so it's time to think back on five good things over the last week.
This challenge is hosted by Susanne over at Living to Tell the Story. Pop over there to find out more and check out other participants.
Phew it's been a busy week but of course there are still things to be thankful for:
1) Lunch out with hubby on Monday - our American in-laws had recommended an Italian restaurant they discovered when they were here and we've been meaning to go for ages but finally managed to get there this week and we had a very enjoyable lunch at a place called
2) On Sunday we attended our DIL's choir's Christmas carol concert. It was nice to get into the Christmas spirit and Rory was a bit mesmerised by it all.
3) Nathan is better this week. Not 100% yet but much better than last week.
4) A night out with friends on Wednesday. One of my former work colleagues turned 60 last week so she'd organised a get together of quite a few of my former colleagues at a local Indian restaurant. It was nice catching up with them.
5) Ladies lunch today. It was scheduled for last week but our host was unwell so we had to postpone until today. Thankfully she was feeling better and able to host a nice lunch. Again it was good to catch up.
Tonight I'm babysitting Rory who, at the moment, is asleep. I've already had to resettle him once though so I'm going to get this posted now in case he wakes again.
It's nice to be at his house - it's warm. Ours is freezing as our heating has broken down. I'm thankful we have insurance for it though and we have a plumber coming tomorrow morning. Hopefully it won't be too hard to fix - I think the central heating pump needs replacing but we will see. We do have a couple of portable heaters which we keep moving around and our downstairs shower is electric and there is an electric heater in there too so we're coping. It only broke down completely yesterday and if it wasn't for Grandson duties and the lunch today they would already have been out to look at it. But things could be worse. We have a roof over our heads, food on the table and money in the bank. Not everyone is so fortunate. Lots to be thankful for.
Have a good weekend all.
oh praise God you at least have the electric heaters!! Yikes....
ReplyDeletehow fun to go to a Christmas carol concert....i haven't been in one in years and haven't attended one since my daughters graduated from high school. We do have plans to attend the Albany Symphony just after Xmas though....yay!!
Lunch out is always a blessing and it sounds like you love taking care of your grandson.
Happy Weekend!!
It sounds as though you enjoyed being able to get caught up with different folks this week. It truly is fun to be able to do that. I'm sorry to hear about your heat...or lack thereof. I hope it won't be something that will cost a fortune to have taken care of.
ReplyDeleteOh my, so sorry your heat isn't working but happy you have a warm place to stay until yours is fixed!! You have had a week of celebrating and seeing old friends is always nice!!
ReplyDeleteI hope your heating gets fixed soon - not a good time of year to be without it! The carol concert sounds fun. You had some nice get-togethers this week. Glad Nathan is better.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, it should be a rule that heaters not break down when it's cold. LOL. Glad you were able to stay warm while watching your precious grandson. Sounds like an enjoyable week with family and celebrations.
