Friday's Fave Five - 7/12/18

It's Friday again so it's time to think back on five good things over the last week.

This challenge is hosted by Susanne over at Living to Tell the Story.  Pop over there to find out more and check out other participants.

Well it's been a few weeks since I've joined in here so LOTS to be thankful for.

1)  A great trip to Canada and America.  We got there and back safely and had a great time in between!

2)  Celebrating our first USA style Thanksgiving.  We were with our son, his wife and baby Rory, celebrating at her parents' house in Barre, Vermont.  And we had snow!  Plus lots of good food, good company and a wonderful time. (Oh and there was wine :)

3)  My tree and decorations are already up.  Usually I'm much later than this at getting organised but not this year.

4)  Nothing untoward had happened while we were away - apart from forgetting to run the dishwasher.  (The dishes nearly walked out of there on their own!)

5)  Once again our NHS service.  Poor Grandson Nathan has had a rotten cold this week that escalated into breathing difficulties again so he was at the hospital all day today.  Thankfully a few nebuliser sessions seem to have eased the problem and he was allowed home with steroids to take and a plan for using his inhalers.  I'm just hoping that as he gets older and stronger he will be able to cope better with all the coughs and colds that he's bound to get. I'm also hoping I haven't caught his cold.

Well that's me caught up.  It's been a busy few weeks and now we're on a countdown to Christmas.  I need to get my skates on and work on the to do list.  Hmm first I need to write the list!

Have a good weekend all.

  1. Hope little Nathan get over that nasty sickness, poor baby. Time is flying toward Christmas and can you even believe 2019 is just around the corner!

  2. I’m glad you had a great trip and enjoyed a Vermont Thanksgiving! Sending healing thoughts for your Grandson...I think I have what he has...ick! Have a great weekend!!!

  3. Thanksgiving in Vermont sounds wonderful. I am a native New Englander and I love Vermont.

  4. Poor little Nathan,I got these breathing troubles when I was 60 !! I need to inhale every morning, but then it disappears. Hope for him it will heal when he grows up. Today it's a bit cool only 23° but sunshine all day ! Lots of English people too !

  5. Oh how fun that you got to come over here to the States and yay for Vermont!! I live only about. 40 min drive southwest from Vermont. I hike there often!

Our tree and Xmas decor i see up too and I'm thankful it's done. It makes the house so festive does t it?

Good luck to your grandson. I have two students who have asthma and need inhalers often in the very cold winter months. Thankfully my daughters never had those kinds of issues.

    Enjoy the to do list!

  6. How fun that you got to experience an American Thanksgiving! Glad your travels went well. Poor Nathan - hope he feels better soon.

  7. Aww hope little Nathan heals quickly and that the inhalers work well for him. How fun that you were able to have American Thanksgiving. Your comment about your unwashed dishes made me laugh.

  8. What a fun trip for you! I hadn't realized your daughter-in-law was from Vermont. And you got to experience Thanksgiving with snow, even. (Next time, come to CA and enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas with 70F weather.)
I hope Nathan recovers quickly and grows out of those colds and breathing issues.
The Christmas decorations do make a home so festive!
