I was dreading the Cunningham family reunion even before the first murder.
Before the storm stranded us at the mountain resort.
The thing is, us Cunninghams don't really get along.
We've only got one thing in common: we've all killed someone.
When they find the first body in the snow, it's clear that only a Cunningham could have committed the crime - and it's up to me to prove it.
There are plenty of killers in my family. But only one murderer .
I really enjoyed this book. It has quite a different take on crime novels by having a narrator who constantly breaks the fourth wall drawing the reader in, and dropping hints along the way.
The narrator, Ernest (Ern), is attending a family reunion. Also there are his Mother, Step-Father, step-sister, Aunt, Uncle, and his brother’s ex-wife. They are waiting for his brother Michael and his own ex-wife to join them following his brother’s release after serving a 3 year prison sentence.
Ern has been cast out by his Mother for being responsible for his brother’s spell in prison.
Once Michael arrives at the ski hotel things start to go wrong and the body count rises. Snowed in by a bad winter storm events become a bit farcical at times.
Gradually we learn the full story behind the events that led to Michael’s imprisonment which is not without twists and turns. A well written crime mystery that hooks you in from the first chapter.

sounds interesting! Now, is this based on a true crime somewhere in England or is it completely fiction?
