Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “song.” First, find a picture–the closest one to you. Your prompt is the title and/or the lyrics of the first song that comes to mind when you look at the picture. Have fun!

Well I am sitting at my kitchen table composing this post and this is the picture that I can see:
The photo is of several generations of my Hubby's family. Hubby is top left, his Dad is top right. Some of hubby's siblings are on the donkey and his Dad, siblings and parents are the bottom right.
The song that comes immediately to mind is: "We are Family" by Sister Sledge.
Hubby's family are very close and it's ever expanding. He's the eldest of 8, there are 23 children between them, 13 grandchildren and 4 expected grandchildren. Sadly neither of his parents are still with us but his Mum did get to see some of her great grandchildren.
We get together quite often and usually look forward to a week away together in August. Unfortunately that has been cancelled for this year. We may have to make do with an outdoor picnic somewhere. There will be singing!
I love that song and family is so important! It is always good to hear about families getting together for reunions, if not every year at least every few years! Big families are the best! You and hubby are blessed!
ReplyDeleteWe definitely are blessed Terri.
DeleteWhat a wonderful big family. And close too.
ReplyDeleteYes, an outdoor picnic! -smile-
Thanks :)
DeleteNice that you will be getting together. A picnic outside sounds great.
ReplyDeleteSeems like the most sensible way at the moment.
DeleteA picnic! Now there's a thought! Hope you have fun.
ReplyDeleteWell it might take a while to co-ordinate a date - one downside of getting so many people together lol.
DeleteNice family pictures! My husband's family did a reunion every three years or so but I'm not sure if the tradition will continue since we are now down to the grandchildren of the original 8 families and most of the elders have passed. The cousins have never been that close since they are spread all over the country. I'm glad I have pictures of the few that we were able to attend. Thanks for sharing.

Fortunately we are all still fairly close together - apart from one SIL who is in France but even that journey is quite straightforward.
DeleteWonderful generational collection of pictures. Family is so important!
ReplyDeleteIt definitely is!
DeleteThat is so special to have a close family. Sadly my extended family got into a fight. We were not involved (thank goodness) but because of it, we have to visit family separate.
ReplyDeleteWow ! that's a big family ! I am an only child and R has a sister 10 years older ! No family besides son and grandson ! I am still very busy with emptying the house ! Yesterday I could sell some silver and watches that was good !
