And it's Monday again..17/8/20

And..... it's Monday again.

Despite the pandemic and restrictions which means we are able to do less and sometimes the days do drag, it also seems that time is also flying by.

On Saturday we saw Grandson Nathan and his Mummies briefly as they'd been house hunting not too far from us.  They's managed to get Nathan's hair cut and he still has some curls!

Yesterday we had Grandson Rory and his parents here for dinner.  Rory loves coming here to play and reading Nanny's books!

I also found time to start making some more face masks:

Today we inched a bit nearer to moving - we've tentatively agreed a completion date of the 10th or 11th September.  Hopefully the solicitors can make that happen and our removal company will be able to move us on that date.

I'll feel happier once contracts are exchanged but apparently there are still a couple of queries to resolve but we're still waiting to hear what they are.

Two steps forward one back!

  1. Great photos, smiles. I just love those curls. I hope things work out for you and this move (sooner than later).

  2. Nathan's hair is amazing. Both boys are SO cute!! I'm glad you are getting to spend time with them, and I am also glad it is now two steps forward and one back - when not too long ago it was one forward and two back!! xo

  3. It sounds like you are inching closer to the move each week. Will you be near your grandchildren in your new place?

    1. We're only moving 5 miles so it won't make a lot of difference and our daughter is hoping to move to the same area so she will hopefully be nearer to us once we've both moved.

  4. Cute picture of Nathan and his new head ! You are now in the stage where we were a month ago I only hope for you that your moving company are not such a catastrophe as ours. I still have things to unpack, first the lockdown then the heatwave ! We signed a provisory "hand over keys" that's the name in French, that means both parts signed a document which shows the electricity and gaz counter nr. the water and the insurance for the house. From that day on it was the 14th they are allowed to do works in the house and water, gaz, electricity and insurance is in their name now. But they are not allowed to move into the house until the 9th September when we have to meet at the buyer's notary!! and then it is completely finished !! I really feel happy here, and Riccardo starts to get used to it now too and enjoys. We hear the lawn mowers and are happy that we only hear and don't have to do it !! I still don't get comments in my emails. I think I will start a new blog.

    1. Do you get any comments in your e-mails or is it just mine you're not seeing? I stopped getting e-mail notifications for comments as they were just clogging up my inbox. Now I just try to keep track of them through blogger. The way the commenting works on blogger is annoying as it's hard to keep track of replies - especially to comments you leave on other blogs. Wordpress is better for that but I'm not sure I want to switch sites right now.

  5. Fingers crossed you can resolve any last minute hitches and exchange contracts. My son is in the process of buying a house and the wheels seem to be moving so slowly. Beautiful photos of your grandchildren.

    1. Thank you. We did finally get the queries through yesterday and we've answered them. Doesn't help when the other solicitor gets our solicitor's e-mail address wrong and things disappear into a black hole lol. But hopefully sorted now. Fingers crossed.
