Friday's Fave Five - 17/1/20

Well I'm a day late again!  But it's still good to look back on last week and find some blessings.
You can find our host Susanne here and check out the other participants if you have time.

Here are mine:

1)  Hair cut and colour.  Always feel better when my hair looks better.

2)  A get together with hubby's siblings yesterday.  We're trying to do this regularly but with 14 diaries to co-ordinate it's a challenge.  We all met up at one of his sister's in Brentwood and his sister from France provided a lovely meal for us all.  Always good to catch up.

(These two were the reason I didn't get to post yesterday.)

3)  Reading time.  I probably spent less time watching TV this past week so I got more reading done.  I've completed my online book club challenge for the month so now I might tackle one of the books on my TBR pile!

4)  Fine weather on "Rory" days.  It has been rainy on and off this week, downpours at time and very windy but on both the days I was Grandsitting there were long enough spells of dry weather to get out to the shops and the park.  It makes such a difference to the day if we can do that.

Sadly there only seem to be 3 goslings now (there were 4) but they have definitely grown since last week.

5)  Time with hubby making future plans.  Not going to say too much yet but this could mean big changes.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend all.

  1. I know what you mean about hair. When it's in shape, we feel so much better. Wow, that's a lot of people to get together! I'm so glad it worked out to do so. I love reading time. I'm glad the weather was good enough to take Rory out and about. My husband and I have talks about future plans, too, as he is a few years away from retirement. I hope your potential upcoming changes are exciting ones.

  2. Joe and I got our haircuts yesterday and mine is just a little too short this time but it grows fast. I quit coloring several years ago. It is sad about the lost duckling but that is nature, I guess. Now you have piqued our interest in your future plans... keep us posted as you can!!

I loved your word, "Grandsitting." It makes it sound so much more special!

  4. I'm a day later than you are, bringing up the tail end of the linky party. I'm getting a haircut and highlights this week. I can't wait! The goslings are so cute, and I'll bet Rory was delighted with them. Looking forward to hearing about your new plans.

  5. ooh.....post a pic of your new color and cut!! I just had mine re-done too. Was trying to grow mine out to a long bob and realized the longer my hair gets the OLDER i look. So i'm back to Asymmetrical cut like in the profile pic. A bit more vibrant brunette (like what i was born with) vs my reddish brunette. the vibrant is from a deep purple. Hard to tell in pic.
YOu guys have GRASS!!! we just got our first snow fall since the big dump the end of November so it finally looks like winter here in eastern New York.
    enjoy the week!!

  6. I love your #5--making future plans. It is such a blessing to be able to sit down and talk together!
Those little goslings are so cute. It's always a good day when you can get out in the sunshine!
That sibling meet up sounds wonderful! I have only one brother and it's a precious time when we are together (once a year?) as we live almost 1000 miles apart.

    1. Thank you. It must be hard living so far apart.

  7. I agree with you that days are better when we can get the kids out. Glad you got those moments. I always feel better with a good haircut and color too. How fun to get together with siblings.
