Friday's Fave Five - 4/1/19

It's Friday again so it's time to think back on five good things over the last week.

This challenge is hosted by Susanne over at Living to Tell the Story.  Pop over there to find out more and check out other participants.

Firstly Happy New Year to you all and here are my 5 things this week:

1)  Quiet time at home.  Christmas away with all the family was lovely but tiring.  It's been nice to have some time just relaxing at home.

2)  Technology.  Nathan & his Mummies are in Miami at the moment but I've had lots of pictures and videos via WhatsApp plus a Video call to keep in touch.  He's suddenly looks much more like a little boy rather than a baby.

3)  Cat time!  While they are away we're catsitting their cat Lady.  I miss having cats but with my son's greyhounds regular visitors it wouldn't be practical to have another cat of my own.  I also got to see my friend's kittens.  They have 3 Bengal kittens who are absolutely adorable.

4)  Catch up meal out with former work colleagues.  We tried a new restaurant and it was yummy.  I blogged about it here.

5)  Exercising.  I'm determined to be more active this year and I've made a good start by getting out for a couple of walks and using the Wii fit.

And a bonus!  I have a guest post on the A-Z Challenge site here.  I've never done a guest post before and it doesn't look as good as I'd like - I'm no expert on HTML code - but I was just pleased to be asked to post.

I hope this has been a good start to January for you and Happy Weekend!

  2. How nice to get out to a new eatery with former work colleagues.

Yay for working out! It's so important as we age to get that heart rate up! Today i ran around the playground with our little students playing tag as our weather has been so mild. It was great to get them outdoors and they all came back from Xmas vacation with increased language skills which is a plus. And running around is a good way for me to get a mini work out in while at work! Keep up the good work!!

    Happy new year!!

  3. I know what you mean - time with family and a change in routine is so nice, but tiring. I was glad for some quiet days at home this week. I'm so glad for the technology that helps us keep in touch. I'm still trying to figure out how to work fitness in my schedule, but I definitely need to work on it this year.

  5. Congratulations on your guest post! I enjoyed reading about your A to Z challenges, then followed the post to 19 in 19, which I loved, and now I'm back here again. I like to set intentions or goals for the new year, which I need to put in writing still.

I agree that Nathan is looking less like a baby, more like a little boy. It's hard to see that happen:( but he is as cute as can be.

I'm enjoying the quiet after the holidays, too. I must be getting old, but it feels like the best part.

    Happy New Year, Wendy.

  7. We are still away from home at our daughter's. So we are looking forward to being back in our own routine soon even though we will miss our families so much! (even the four dogs and two cats)
Nathan looks like a boy not a baby! I'm sure he's enjoying the sun and surf in Florida.
    Happy New Year!

  8. It is nice that you got some down time just for yourself after the fun family time. Little Nathan is sure growing!
