Oh my goodness, how can it be April already?
This has been a hectic week making it all the more important to take a breath and think about the things I'm grateful for. This idea is led by Susanne over at Living to Tell the Story. Unfortunately Susanne is coping with the loss of her Father this week but she's still managed to post a link where you can find other bloggers taking part.
Here are my five for the week:
1. Family time! It's been a busy week as our eldest son, wife and their two boys have been here this week. We love having them visit. It was a bit staggered as son and boys arrived last Saturday, DIL came Monday. Boys and DIL went home last night and our son goes home tomorrow but it was lovely to see them for a few days again as we don't get to see them as often as the other grandchildren.
2. More family time last Sunday for Grandson Nathan's 5th birthday. His birthday was actually on Thursday but his Mummies hosted us all for lunch last Sunday. It was a bit hectic with all 6 grandchildren together but they do love to see one another.
The older boys had fun dressing up! (L to R Rory, Nathan and Noah.)
3) A normal outing! On Monday my son and I took his two boys, Noah and Miles plus Nathan to a place called the Discover Centre in Stratford. It's a centre that does a lot of storytelling activities with kids and although there wasn't an actual storytelling session going on the boys had a wonderful time exploring lots of things to inspire their imaginations.
It's been so long since I've done anything like that with them thanks to the pandemic and I was a bit nervous about it but I was determined to keep a lid on my anxiety and enjoy the visit.
It was hard work with Miles though who hasn't long started walking and who just wanted to keep making a break for the stairs! But the older two loved it.
4) Granddaughter Ella is getting better. On top of all that was going on this week Ella developed a nasty respiratory infection that resulted in a visit to the hospital on Sunday and being kept in overnight then another visit to the hospital on Tuesday which led to her having to have antibiotics intravenously. She was struggling with her breathing and running a very high temperature. Thankfully the IV doses of antibiotics seem to have done the trick and she's recovering at home now with oral antibiotics to ensure the infection is totally cleared.
5) Despite the hectic week I have managed to get my first few posts of the A-Z challenge prepared. I still have a couple more to do by the end of tomorrow because we will be away from Sunday until Friday in the Lake District and although we will have wifi where we'll be staying we're going with our daughter, DIL, Nathan and Ella so I don't think there will be much time for blogging!
Have a good weekend all!
So glad you had such a good week with your kids and grandkids. Have a good weekend. See you again soon!
